We understand that coming along to a new place for the first time can be a daunting prospect. Here at Lakeside, we do everything that we can to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. On this page we hope that you find relevant information that will help you as you begin your journey at Lakeside.
What time do our services start?
Our Sunday morning celebration begins at 11am and usually finishes at around 12:30pm when we make our way into our upstairs coffee house to connect with one another over a nice drink. We serve free teas and coffees and if it’s your first time with us, then you are invited to have one of our proper menu board drinks on us.
We meet in the evening at 6pm with a varied programme.
Where are we located?
We are based at the northern end of the Marine Lake here in Southport opposite the Municipal Golf Course. Our address is Lakeside Church, Fairway, Southport, PR9 0LA.
What should you wear?
We want you to feel really relaxed when you come here so wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Most people who attend are usually dressed in a casual manner, including our Pastors. However, if you would like to wear your new suit or dress, you are totally welcome.
Where can you park?
There is plenty of free parking on site.
What should you expect?
As you enter the building, you will be met by one of our volunteers who will give you a great welcome, and hopefully hand you a copy of our Welcome Brochure along with the latest monthly magazine which tells you about a number of the different things taking place here. During our morning service, we have a live band leading us in some songs of praise, one of the pastors will tell you about some of the upcoming events and any other relevant church news. There will also be an inspiring and relevant talk given from the Bible, and sometimes we’ll invite people to receive prayer from our ministry team. Each week, we take up an offering to give financially to support the work of the church and on the first Sunday of each month, we share Communion together as we remember the sacrifice Jesus paid for us. Alongside all of this, we also have a children’s programme running where your kids are welcome to join in – this usually begins after our time of praise and worship. We also have a Creche for babies and toddlers which is manned by some of our volunteers, although you are welcome to stay in there with your child should you prefer. There is a television in there which streams the service so you don’t feel like you’re missing anything.
At least once a quarter, we like to invite all those who have recently joined us to a meal after one of our Sunday services. This is simply an opportunity to get to know others within the church – leaders and their families as well as other newcomers. It’s a great way to discover more about who we are and where we’re heading in a relaxed environment, all at our expense.
